IRL - Do people know?

Out of curiosity & for fun, do you tell people in real life you play neopets? Yes/No. Why? I noticed some of you know each other and that made me wonder...

My answer -

No. I definitely hide it from my fiance. He would probably think I am completely crazy. I remember once trying to explain it to him and yeah... he didn't get it. My brother used to know I played (when I was younger and still living at home) and he would always make fun of me. I don't know anyone in real life who plays/played either (obviously not now since I'm 21 but even when I was younger.) I guess I'm just really embarassed and wouldn't want to have to explain everything if my fiance knew. I use his computer too so I can see him looking at the history one day and being like "Wth Ashley... who's Jeremiah?" lol

Oh, God no. I would probably die if any of my friends / family members found out.
Not so much about the neopets thing. But more of the role playing thing.
They'd probably think I was some sort of psycho living vicariously through these
characters I create. I'm sneaky, though, so I doubt anyone knows about the various
RP forums I've been a member of. (;
On a side note, a friend and I made that 19380 account that I joined the guild on
to troll one day. Immature, I know. But it was the most internet fun I've had in a
whileeee. (x

Oh nevernevernever! I have a couple friends that roleplay with me (Kasey being one of them) but I could never tell anyone else. The roleplaying bit is bad enough, though I've tried to explain that to my boyfriend a little. I kind of glazed over the fact that it was neopets because I know he had an account when he was much younger and wouldn't understand why I keep mine up and running. And I'm pretty sure my mom thinks I'm into porn or something the way I'm always trying to hide the screen from her when she walks by...

Kind of sad that neopets one of my biggest secrets from the world, and sadder that I keep trying to run away from it and keep getting sucked back in. lol

Thanks a ton for this forum, it makes me feel so much less shifty when someone comes around the corner and this is up. (;

You know, this is too ironic! No one knows that I roleplay, either. I think my little sister is on to me, haha, but she never says anything. But this semester I'm taking this class called Expository Writing, and basically it is a course during which you read other peoples' analytical essays and analyze them and form your own argument, citing from within the very essay you read. It's pretty intensive lol but not too bad. I had my first two sessions this week, and we were assigned an essay about the Harry Potter series, and how this girl Heather created a "fan-fiction" website, as they called it. Basically...it was a roleplay forum, much like this one lol. The guy, Jenkins, argued that it was a valid educational pursuit. Soo we had a group discussion about it, but of course when my professor asked if anybody has ever taken part in a website like that, everybody said no.

...and I didn't wanna say anything haha. I'm sure someone in there other than me had to know what she was talking about though... lol.
